Time to Pronk? I don't think so.

India Point Park will never be the same.
You know, sometimes you think you may have seen everything there is to be seen. Life is full of bananas and people who act like bananas, but on this particular evening, I just wanted to stop and get a cup of coffee at the my favorite spot on Wickenden Street on my way home.

It was, after all, a cool October evening and it was a fairly long day. Cruising through town, laughing to myself about how I must have missed the so-called, over-hyped Traffic Tsunami that never materialized with an event at the Dunkin Donuts Center, I thought I was in the clear.

Boy was I wrong.

Turning left onto Wickenden from South Water Street, I was stopped at a red light staring at what seemed to be a parade coming right at me.  A parade?  Monday night?

Oh yes, it sure was. Complete with a police escort. Apparently, to pay homage to the 375th anniversary of Providence, what would be more appropriate than a parade celebrating PRONK.  Yep, that's right, a parade featuring muscians, and perhaps I should use that term loosely, as it was more like a cluster of individuals playing anything they could get their hands on, marching to the beat of their own rhythm down Wickenden, right where I wanted to go.

These "musicians" spent most of the afternoon up at India Point Park practicing (or maybe brewing) their craft and capped off the evening with a leisurely stroll down one of the busiest streets on a work night.

Luckily, the lights turned green (it must have seen the horror in my eyes of the possibility of being swallowed up by these nice folks within seconds) and I managed to safely sneak away up Benefit and find the comforts of my own driveway.

Locking the doors of course. Party on.
