Steve Jobs: An Inspiration for Generations |
To put it simply, Jobs changed the world. What we take for granted today: laptop computing, portable iPod music players, tablet computers, and even the computer mouse, we owe to the legacy of Steve Jobs.
He took the computer experience, for everyone at all ages, and made it simple. From the stuffy, boxy, and heavy personal computer we once knew, he made Apple, not only user-friendly and simple to use, but most importantly, he made it cool too.
Someone pointed out that without Steve Jobs, Apple may have just gone the way of Kodak, passed by the furious speed of modern-day technology and innovation.
But Jobs was "the" innovator. He had the vision for the iPod, the tablet computer iPad, and cloud computing for that matter, but used his tireless demand for perfection to make sure these products were simply the best in the market. Others have continued to follow at Apple and Jobs' feet in trying to replicate similar products, but there will only be one Apple. Period.
I remember buying one of the very first Mac laptops, the Macbook 145 upon graduating from college in 1993, complete with a hard drive of 45MB. Now, as I type this on my MacBook, I think back to just how far the computer has advanced, and not afraid to think out of the box.
Thank you and rest in peace sir.
